When talking about young sound designers, Francesco Pellegrin is by far one the most talented creators out there.
His approach to foley recording, tirelessly looking for that musically appealing sound is always inspiring. It doesn’t matter if it’s a coffee machine, a tennis ball, a water bottle or a lamp bulb… Everything around him is potentially a musical instrument.
It was just a matter of time we ended up making a sound pack together!
And the first is GLASS DRUMS.
A library created using glass in all its shapes:
Broken glass, knocked glass, blown glass, resonating glass… Yeah! GLASS!
Francesco broke more than 50 pieces of them (bottles, pots, glass, lens, glasses…).
All this recordings were then reprocessed to get a final sound palette as wide as possible.
In his own words:
“I used condenser microphones as well as handmade contact mics in order to get all the nuances and tones possible.
I chose glass because it gives an instant movement to tracks. It sounds classy but also raw.
A fun fact is I’m still picking pieces of glass around the studio!”
295 one shots and 199 audio loops to feed your sampler!
And we haven’t forget to build custom presets for your DAWs:
